A Regioonal GVIAS event that evolved over the years out of a single night warehouse party to a 3 day art and music getaway

02.19.10 All Hail the PARTY- Soundproof at the Cheese This time we hook up the the Soundproof collective - an old school underground rave type group that still throws parties by word of mouth. This party taking place at the UBC engineering clubhouse ("the cheese") had a Communist theme so I created a visual VJ set based on a socialist / comunist esthetic with a tiny bit of Orwell flavor in it
02.10.10 The Video Artists Gather (video Blog 7) My parther VJ James Deane along with Darren Read (drvisuals) put together this social gathering of video artists as a way to talk shop and network with other video artists, trade clips and geek out. 01.19.10 Sequential Circus At Open Studios (video Blog 5) I met Drew Smith (Mux) and Ross (DJ Granolaboy) at a few different parties and they invited Jimmy Deane and myself to come out to play at their event at OPEN STUDIO. This was the first time that Sequential Circus - a purely live-PA music night would bring in guest VJs to do Visuals. The footage sat in the Vault for a bit but I was finally able to get the video for #5 done in time for Sequential Circus 6
01.18.10 Enlighten:Us (video blog 3) Mars (DJ Diggity) has been a friend for a while so when he asked us to come out to do visuals for his Psytrance celebration of the Spring Equinox we were happy to oblige.
11.25.09 No Country For Old Memes This VJ blog was a trip back in time to 2 years ago - The orgins of my VJ career was in doing videography work for indie music- This was one of the first nights I VJd at and did live video performance to music. It was a DVD release party show for the Tour Documentary video I had collaborated on with Joey Only - This night marked a shift from one who documents the night to one who performs on it.

BURNING MAN FESTIVAL 2009 PROJECT Our largest project to Date - at the end of August Jimmy Deane and I went down the west coast through Washington , Oregon and California into Nevada to the Black Rock desert for the BURNING MAN festival to set up a major video installation and perform live video mixing at the largest dance camp on the Playa (the ROOT SOCIETY)- We built more than a video installation - we built lasting connections with tons of video artists from around the world(here is the official trailer - click the video links below to watch or download the whole 8 part series we filmed and cut)

Also since it ran for 10 years when most nights in this city run for about 3 months I figured there must be something more to it - and there was - this was the documentary video I made for them
